Privacy notice

This notice explains how Modara Consulting uses personal information when you visit our website, contact us or receive a relevant business communication from us.

Effective 3 August 2026

Who we are

Modara Consulting is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Questions, requests and objections can be sent to scott.reader@modaraconsulting.co.uk.

Information we use

Depending on how you interact with us, we may use:

  • your name, role, employer and professional contact details;
  • information you provide in emails, calls, meetings or enquiries;
  • relevant business information from company websites, Companies House, professional profiles, referrals and other public sources;
  • basic technical information processed by our website hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type and request logs, for security and reliable operation.

We do not intentionally collect special-category data for marketing.

Delivering services and managing client relationshipsContract, legitimate interests and legal obligations
Relevant, targeted business developmentOur legitimate interests in developing our business
Protecting and operating our website and systemsOur legitimate interests in security and reliable operation

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the use is necessary, proportionate and within reasonable professional expectations.

Business communications

We may contact people at limited companies and other corporate bodies when their role is relevant to a service we provide. We keep this activity selective, use professional contact information and do not buy bulk mailing lists. Every introductory email identifies Modara Consulting and provides a simple way to opt out.

You can object at any time by replying to the message or emailing us. We will stop direct marketing and retain only the minimum information needed to respect your request.

Sharing and international transfers

We share information only when needed with service providers supporting email, document storage, website hosting and professional advice, or where disclosure is required by law. We do not sell personal information.

If a provider processes information outside the UK, we require an appropriate legal safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.

How long we keep information

Unsuccessful business-development records are normally reviewed and deleted within 12 months. Client and contractual records are retained for the period needed to deliver the work, meet legal obligations and handle potential claims. Suppression records may be kept longer so we do not contact someone who has opted out.

Cookies

We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. Our hosting provider may process strictly necessary technical information to deliver and secure the site.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to provide a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or object to how it is used. The right to object to direct marketing is absolute.

Contact us first so we can help. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our services, systems or legal obligations change. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
